After more than three decades of dedication to the field, Prof WK Lam is going to retire from his office in the University of Hong Kong this year. Councils, both old and new, of Hong Kong Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians (Hong Kong and Macau Chapter) held a retirement party on 19 June at Hong Kong Club to pay our tribute to Prof Lam - our most respectable senior. The whole evening was filled with warmth, joy and laughter. Near the end of the party, Prof Lam kindly promised that he would continue to contribute to Respiratory Medicine whenever it was necessary. May we take this opportunity to thank Prof Lam once again for all he has done for us and wish him all the best in his new page of life.
