In The Lancet Infectious Diseases , Molebogeng Rangaka and colleagues present findings from their systematic review and meta-analysis, showing that existing diagnostic devices for latent tuberculosis infection cannot accurately predict the development of active tuberculosis.
They also show that interferon-γ release assays (IGRAs), like the tuberculin skin test (TST), have only a moderate predictive value.
