In The Lancet , Roy Herbst and colleagues report the phase 3, double-blind, randomised BeTa trial, 1 in which they assessed the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab in combination with erlotinib, compared with erlotinib alone, for treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of first-line chemotherapy.
