The Dr. Tse Yuen Man Memorial Scholarship was set up in 2004 in remembrance of the heroic acts of the late Dr. Tse Yuen Man, a former trainee in Respiratory Medicine, who offered her life to save patients with the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in 2003. The scholarship is awarded to a higher form student of the TWGHs Mrs. Wu York Yu Memorial College, the Alma Mater of Dr. Tse Yuen Man. The award is offered annually to winners of an essay competition on respiratory disease selected by a panel consisting of Council Members of the Hong Kong Lung Foundation. Miss Wong Man-shan was awarded the scholarship for the year 2005 and the title of her essay was “Smoking and Lung Health”.
